The Program
The Hendu Education Scholarship for collegiate students continues the legacy of Dave “Hendu” Henderson, co-founder of Toys for Kids and former Seattle Mariners outfielder, who believed deeply in lifting others up and creating lasting change through service and compassion.
This $5,000 one-time scholarship is designed to support Washington State students entering their second year of college or specialty school—students who have already shown commitment to their education and community, and who are ready to take the next step in their journey.
Open to all past Toys for Kids scholarship applicants or recipients, the collegiate scholarship helps remove financial barriers so students can stay focused on their goals, deepen their impact, and carry forward Hendu’s spirit of joy, generosity, and resilience.
