Our Programs

We serve youth in the Pacific Northwest through unique programs in communities, homeless shelters, and workplaces.

With your help, we extend opportunities to help the children and their families.

Dave "Hendu" Henderson Scholarship

Dave “Hendu” Henderson was a former major league baseball player.  Dave started his career as the first player drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1977.  In 1986, Henderson hit a ninth-inning, two-out, two-strike epic homer that lifted the Red Sox to a Game 5 victory over the Angels in the American League Championship Series.  Off the field, he carried on his life in leadership roles helping kids by co-founding Rick’s Toys for Kids.

Toy donations

With the funds that we raise, through the generosity of our sponsors and individual donors, we are able to make sure that Santa Claus is alive and well and will show up for these kids during the holidays. With the 20+ plus agencies we support they are able to purchase toys and have their holiday parties each year. Toy for Kids attends these parties to help fill these kids hearts with hope and joy.

christmas in july

Christmas in July takes place every year in July at a Seattle Mariners game. Toys for kids takes 650 kids from the different agencies that we serve to a Seattle Mariners game. For most of these kids this will be the first game that they will be attending. Many of the Seattle Mariners current and former players come to visit the kids to show them support.

Mother's Day, day of beauty

Toys for kids partners with Joe Bae salon to give the Mom’s of the Broadview Women’s Shelter a Mother’s Day, Day of Beauty. They are treated to haircuts, manicures, and even get their make up done by Megan Yamamoto Makeup. When they are all done they finish up with a beautiful photo taken by Inese Photography. All of the professionals donate their time. Just before the Mom’s leave they are given a gift bag of goodies and treats to take home.

back to school Supplies

Providing school children with essential  supplies they need to learn can be expensive, but Toys for Kids is here to help. Items such as backpacks, pens, paper, or other basic school supplies are donated to the Atlantic Street Center every year. Supplies can be obtained at their yearly Back to School Supplies drive. Contact Atlantic Street Center to learn more about when the supplies will be available.
